Food was good. Steak street tacos were delicious. Beef street tacos were just okay. Tableside guacamole is well worth it.

Fantástico! We were headed home from Maine - stopped in Wilkes Barre for the night. This was our dinner choice and we were pleasantly surprised. Starting with the clever decoration out and in, immediate greeting and seating, fast and efficient waitstaff and delicious food! The night was great! We sampled a marguerita, pina colada and a Mexican Coke. Queso and chips - dinner was off to a good start. Our party chose, steak tacos, fajita quesadillas and chicken fajitas. All expertly cooked and presented. We were stuffed when we left. This is a definite go to in this area. I hope I'm back someday!

My favorite Mexican restaurant, I have visited most of the restaurants in the Scranton/WB area and I keep going back to El Rey. Hands down the best and if I lived closer I would be there at least once a week if not more. My go to is a Mayan burrito but with the ever expanding menu it is hard to pick a meal. A friend turned me on to El Rey when on Blackman street and it has been nice to see them grow as more people find them. Gaston is one of the nicest owners you can meet and he has an excellent staff.
